Beautifully sited on Lake Monona and originally designed with details and millwork throughout the house inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, including a quote by FLW on the red fireplace wall. Previous renovations ignored the home’s character. We updated those spaces to reflect the spirit and design details to match the beauty of the rest of the house.
The homeowner loved prairie style architecture but didn’t think it was possible with her existing house. A total exterior transformation was accomplished by removing the second floor shingle siding, raising the flat roofs to prairie style hip roofs and providing a sense of entry with the welcoming front porch, featuring prairie style column design. Nothing was modified on the interior except the windows above the entry on the second floor.
